At this concert, chamber concerts of Vivaldi are put together with triosonates of, among others, Händel and Telemann and the Czech baroque composer Zelenka. The ensemble will be led by the internationally renowned baroque professor and conductor Peter Whelan who has also been visiting Aarhus. He will also come into focus in the great bassoon sonate C-Major by JF Fasch. In addition, one can hear BaroqueAros’ members embark on the more solo roles that the music on this occasion invites.
Irish-born Peter Whelan has made a great career both as a baroque teacher and as conductor and ensemble leader where he directs and plays cembalo at the same time. He has among other things founded Ensemble Marsyas and headed for the Irish Baroque Orchestra. In addition, he is a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, at the Royal Northern College of Music and at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire.
